Raft the Kaituna River with Rotorua’s white water rafting specialists. Raft through steep, bush clay canyons and over 13 incredible drops including the 7 metres Tutea Falls which is the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world.This is a trip for everyone from the first time rafters to the rafting enthusiasts and with a touch of culture, a mix of history and an adrenaline overload our guides will offer you an amazing river experience.We operate 7 days a week and offer courtesy transport from dawn until dusk.

Our ‘Kaituna White Water Sledding’ trip offers an excursion with beautiful scenery as you negotiate your way through some awesome rapids and play holes. No experience is necessary and we operate 7 days a week and offer courtesy transport. Expect your round trip to last 3 hours with approximately 1 hour on the water.

This 3 hour round trip encompasses a truly unique kiwi whitewater activity. Our world class guides will share with you an epic journey down the Kaituna river, through 14 awesome rapids, over 3 waterfalls; including 7m Tutea Falls the largest commercially rafted waterfall in the world. Infused with aspects of Maori culture this trip offers it all; for beginners or whitewater enthusiasts.

No experience is necessary – comprehensive training will be provided along with our awesome kiwi guides to attend and encourage you along the way.

Kaitiaki Adventures are New Zealand’s original white water sledging specialists – since 1989. There is something for everyone on this beautiful scenic excursion. Play holes and awesome rapids to negotiate your way through as you are in charge of your own vessel. Take the river on at eye level and propel yourself through the water by the flippers on your feet. Our qualified guides are there to encourage, motivate and help you where necessary. Grade 3
