The caves are pristine. The tour requires climbing over boulders, ascending slopes, and wading through streams, with no handrails, electric lighting, concrete walkways, or other changes. Therefore, a moderate level of physical fitness is essential.
We supply all the necessary equipment and gear for your excursion, including the proper attire, boots, socks, and caving helmet. Therefore, once the trip is complete, you may change back into clean clothes and let us handle your dirty laundry.
We also provide shower facilities, hot beverages, and a snack following the tour.

Glowing Adventures is nestled off the usual tourist path, yet is only a short distance from the Waitomo Caves Village and the small towns of Te Kuiti and Otorohanga. Permit one of our professional guides to lead your group on an exclusive private trip through pristine glow worm caves and native New Zealand vegetation. There are no handrails, electric lights, or concrete paths; the area is entirely natural.
Private excursions are comparable to the basic Glowing Adventure Eco-Tour, but include only your group and a guide.

On our outings, we welcome small cameras. A compact digital camera is ideal, and some individuals even bring their smartphones for photography. During the trip, our guides will also take photographs, and digital copies will be provided free of charge. Consider one of our Glowing Adventures Glow Worm Cave Photography Tours if you’re interested in bringing heavier equipment to capture the landscape.

On our photography trips, we provide stunning New Zealand landscapes both within and outside the glow worm caves, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide. These excursions are private. That is, only your group and your guide will be present on the tour. On photography tours, we accept between one and four participants.
Photography tours differ slightly from Glowing Adventures’ basic Eco-tour. The primary distinction is that we concentrate on the cave’s entrance/exit and the scenic Mangapu Gorge. There are numerous options for photography, including stunning glow worms. The cave system is one of only two in the Waitomo district designated as having “International Significance” by the New Zealand Department of Conservation. And it is entirely unspoilt!
We permit larger cameras and other equipment, such as compact tripods, on photography tours. And, unlike on our previous tours, you have the freedom to devote significantly more time to photography. Photographing glow worms can be challenging and time-consuming. However, the results can be stunning!
