There is no better way to spend a day in the Bay of Islands than on the water, and what better way than to set sail on ‘Carino NZ’, a 50 ft spacious catamaran designed and built for day sailing in the Bay of Islands?

We are the only yacht licensed by ‘The Department of Conservation to view dolphins in the Bay.

We are family owned and operated, we love the Bay of Islands, and we are committed to giving you a fun and relaxing way to enjoy your best holiday experience that combines sailing and exploring the Bay of Islands, along with secluded Island stops and scenic walks, swimming, sunbathe followed by a Barbecue lunch onboard along with the possible opportunity for dolphin viewing in the afternoon (Dept. of Conservation regulation)

Surrounded by deep blue waters, vivid green islands and diverse wildlife, sailing on Carino NZ, our 50ft catamaran is the best way to experience the stunning bay of islands.

Your day sailing adventure starts from Paihia or Russell, help the crew with setting and trimming the sails, or if you prefer, you can sit back and relax on the spacious decks, watching out for local Blue Penguins, Petrels and a multitude of other ocean birds.

We offer the chance to feel the magic and excitement of seeing dolphins up close and personal. The Bay of Islands is a unique place for bottlenose dolphins as it provides an abundance of bait fish and security for resting and breeding, so we must be conscious of the need to respect their habitat.

Carino NZ is a purpose-built catamaran design that allows excellent viewing of dolphins around the yacht, either bow riding at the front or on the trampolines. Sometimes, they scratch and rub themselves on the rudders at the back of the boat.

Your Skipper Vanessa and crew will find a calm island cove for you to enjoy with various activities. From snorkelling in one of the bays, a scenic walk on one of the islands leading to spectacular views over the Bay of Islands, relaxing on the beach in the sun or beach combing for that unique shell souvenir.

The crew will be busy cooking up an excellent kiwi style BBQ lunch back aboard Carino NZ, vegetarian options catered for on request, and we have a fully licensed bar with a range of New Zealand beers, wines and cool drinks. From here, we set the sails cruising back through the islands returning to Russell & Paihia.
