This premier 2.25 hour eco-jet boat adventure will propel you from the ocean to the mountains. Experience the exceptional beauty of the ‘Te Wahipounamu’ the Maori name for the South West New Zealand World Heritage Area, as your experienced guide leads you along the ancient river as untouched as it was thousands of years ago when the Maori first roamed the land.
Wander through 1000 year old Beech forest and learn about the pioneers that worked this land. There are ample photo and commentary stops on your journey up the river. What makes this journey so special is that the scenery changes around every corner of the river. Wayne is deeply passionate and knowledgable on the West Coast area from his previous life as a commercial pilot and from his time spent on the river. As he says, it is a different experience even for him each time he boats the river.
You may hire the whole jet boat for 2 people to 15, bring your family and friends for a personal experience, with option to bring your own river side picnic if desired. Sole boat charter is $1500.00 for approx. 3 hours for up to 8 pax any additional passengers over 8 is $100 for each person. More information.
Our guide will provide an informative, friendly commentary on the history of Gondwana land, pausing from time to time on your journey along the river giving you excellent photo opportunities. You then have the option to leave the boat, stretch your legs and participate in a bush walk, smell the rainforest as you walk softly through the dripping ferns with the sparkling light shimmering on the snowy peaks that are your backdrop.
This fabulous nature tour is suitable for all ages and reservations are highly recommended, so take home memories that will last a lifetime Book Now to avoid disappointment.
