You’ll connect with the ‘real New Zealand’ during your breathtaking 3-hour Seal Coast Safari. To get to the ‘Seal Coast’ you’ll travel through private land, not accessible by the public, in powerful, off-road 4WD vehicles. We offer a breathtaking 3 hours of Wellington’s southern coastline by 4WD, with extensive views of the city and coastline. Our tour begins by going up the Brooklyn Hill to a wind turbine where guests can take in the great views of the city, the Cook Strait and the South Island. From there, we then travel through the hills of private farmland towards Wellington’s south coast. In this private farmland you can encounter a number of animals including, goats Red Deer, and ostriches!
Stories abound as we drive for 20 rugged kilometeres along the beach, over rocks and across small rivers, to Tongue Point – home to a colony of amazing New Zealand fur seals.
Enjoy tea, coffee and a muffin with the seals and take in the beauty of their natural habitat, experiencing the crashing waves and the famous Leaning Lighthouse. where we stop for a tea, coffee and a gourmet muffin with the seals.
Spend time viewing the seals and birdlife and listen to local stories from your knowledable guide whilst relaxing before your homeward journey around the bays and past the spectacular Red Rocks back to Wellington.
