Experience the exceptional beauty of the ‘Te Wahipounamu’ the Maori name for the South West New Zealand World Heritage Area, as your experienced guide leads you along the ancient river as untouched as it was thousands of years ago when the Maori first roamed the land.
Wander through 1000 year old Beech forest and learn about the pioneers that worked this land. There are ample photo and commentary stops on your journey up the river. What makes this journey so special is that the scenery changes around every corner of the river. Wayne is deeply passionate and knowledgable on the West Coast area from his previous life as a commercial pilot and from his time spent on the river. As he says, it is a different experience even for him each time he boats the river.
