Horse Riding Treks in Kerikeri, Bay of Islands

Just outside of Kerikeri and set in the beautiful Bay of Islands Kate’s Riding Centre offers horse trekking and riding lessons that cater for riders of all abilities.
Previous experience is not necessary as we have horses and ponies that have been chosen for their lovely nature, taking adults and children for both group and private treks or horse riding lessons.
Kates riding Centre offers the visitor fabulous farm rides on a stunningly picturesque farm with panoramic views of the Kerikeri inlet.
Enjoy a relaxing ride as you soak in the views, or for the experienced rider who is looking for something more challenging, we have our own cross country course available which is dependent on your ability.
Kerikeri Farm Treks: Cost $70 per adult $60 per child
Our horse treks are approximately 1.5 Hrs and we can arrange treks for most days at a time that is suitable for you and we cater to small or large groups.
For young children we recommend a trek of 1 hour or we can lead very young children on one of our smaller ponies.
Bay of Islands Beach Horse Treks: Cost $230 per person Minimum 2 riders.
Our beach treks start at the farm where from where we transport the horses to a beach location approximately 40 minutes drive away.
Here we will take you on a full beach horse riding experience for approximately 3 Hours, taking in both stunning farmland and ocean views as we ride along the Purerua Peninsula.
Costs can vary according to numbers so please call to enquire as this trek does have a greater cost involved because of transporting the horses to the beach location.
Bay of Islands Weekend Retreat on Horseback: Cost approx 
$1400 per person.
This really is the full monty!! Here you can ride to your hearts content along the stunning peninsula coastline with accommodation provided on a picturesque beachside with delicous food and beverages.
Times and length of rides can be flexible to suit your needs, catering for groups of 8 to 12 people of all levels of experience, with plenty of guides which allows for some riders to pick up the pace whilst others can choose to take it more slowly.
Summer Pony Camps: Cost $450 per week
Kates Riding Centre offer Pony Camps for all ages (including adults) and abilities during the school holidays.
Week One: 10 to 14 april 2023
Week Two: 17 to 22 April 2023

This is an intensive five days of horses!! and it’s good fun for everone giving a real confidence
boost in a positive environment and the opportunity to form new friendships with other riders,
horses and instructors.
You have the option of bringing your own horse or using one of ours, we will match you with a suitable horse or pony depending on your size and ability.
All equipment/tack will be supplied if needed, and you will be taught the techniques about caring for the horse and improving your overall awareness and relationship with the horse.
The Pony Camps are run at our farm. and the cost includes all tuition, use of horse and tack during camp, accommodation and food.
Accommodation is provided in Kate’s house where you will be supervised by the “camp mum”. (Please note the week and price does not include food or accommodation for adults.)
