First stop after hotel pickup is a visitors centre at the entrance of Auckland’s largest natural rainforest. The Arataki visitors centre boasts panoramic views of the rainforest, both harbours, and Auckland City. Your guide will explain the significance of the visitors center’s traditional Mori carvings.

Continue to the native rainforest to wander among huge tree ferns. Learn about New Zealand’s silver fern, manuka, and kauri trees with your guide. We discuss Mori applications for certain woodland plants.

This full-day hike is for nature enthusiasts. Your local guide will guide you through rainforest, beach, and clifftop treks. This tour explores West Auckland’s unique black sand beaches and forests.

After picking you up from your Auckland hotel, we drive 30 minutes to the Arataki Visitor Centre, gateway to the coastal rainforest. Views of the rainforest, city, and Auckland’s southern waterfront are stunning. Your guide will explain the significance of the visitors center’s Maori carvings.

Your eco-tour includes a guided walk into original rainforest, where old kauri trees tower over unique trees and plants that have evolved separately for millions of years. As you walk through the forest, your guide will point out plants and animals. Your guide will explain how Mori used native plants as food and medicine.
