Travel by mini coach to Milford Sound, where our guided walk will begin. Beginning with a short boat journey to Sandfly Point, the Milford Track can then be accessed.
On a well-maintained path, enjoy an easy 5.5 kilometers (11 kilometer return) stroll along the cascading Arthur River and dark Lake Ada. From the majestic canopy trees towering above to the emerald-green ferns below and the singing that resonates through the woods, it is best to explore this World Heritage Site on foot. Our final destination is the magnificent Giant Gate This magnificent waterfall is best observed from the river’s wide swinging bridge.
We retrace our steps at a slow pace, taking the time to appreciate this magnificent woodland. The intimate ratio of 12 hikers to 1 Trips & Tramps guide provides a wonderful opportunity to learn about the trail’s interesting human history. At the sign indicating the conclusion of the trail, there is an option to take photographs upon completion of the walk. The walkers rejoin the boat for the return trip to Milford.

We then return at a leisurely pace, taking the time to enjoy this incredible forest. Join Trips & Tramps from Te Anau, and travel in a small group to Fiordland’s mountain divide by vehicle. Your 8km return Routeburn Track guided walk begins at the Divide Shelter, ascending through lush, temperate rain forest on a well-maintained track.
The steady climb takes approximately 2 hours at a leisurely pace. A maximum of 12 walkers with a Trips & Tramps guide provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the natural and human heritage of Fiordland.
Gaining an elevation of 400 meters, emerge from the forest into the alpine environment, with panoramic views of high snowy peaks, alpine lakes, and deep bush clad valleys. On a fine day lunch is on the summit amidst the alpine tarns, and in unfavorable conditions in the shelter of a nearby tramping hut. After lunch steps are retraced to the Divide Shelter before returning to Te Anau.

Experience a guided heli-hike on the Kepler Track. Begin with a spectacular flight by helicopter from Te Anau Township, over the hiddenlakes to arrive at Luxmore Hut on the Kepler Track. The walk begins in the alpine area then descends through magnificent beech forest. The effects of different altitude and weather conditions experienced in Fiordland are clear to see, as the trees and undergrowth quickly change, creating a varied backdrop.
The approach to Lake Te Anau is evident as the track meanders through native New Zealand ferns.
The hike is finished at the sandy beach of Brod Bay, the pick-up point for the water taxi back to Te Anau town-ship.

On conclusion of the walk complete the Milford Sound experience with an afternoon Scenic Boat Cruise 1 hour 40 minutes in length. Experience an adventurous guided day walk from Te Anau hiking to Lake Marian amongst forest and alpine scenery.
Begin with a spectacular scenic drive along the Milford Road to the Lower Hollyford valley, the starting point for the guided walk to Lake Marian. The hike starts with a gentle walk alongside a series of waterfalls, then steepens and becomes rocky underfoot as we ascend through a lush forest of fuchsia, ribbon wood and beech trees.
There is a maximum of 6 walkers with a Trips & Tramps guide providing an opportunity for clients to learn about the natural and human heritage of Fiordland. Stops for photographs, bird-watching and enjoying the scenery are made along the way.
Hot drinks and energy snacks are carried by the guide, and a wilderness tea break is available as required. After walking for 2-3 hours,
we arrive at Lake Marian.
This stunning alpine lake is situated in a hanging valley surrounded by steep, snow clad mountains. As weather permits enjoy a picnic lunch at this inspirational location and relax in this magnificent alpine amphitheater. Descend back down the track to the Hollyford
Road and then travel back to Te Anau by coach.

Enjoy a guided day walk from Te Anau beginning with a scenic helicopter flight over the Hidden Lakes, beech forest and alpine area to Luxmore Hut on the Kepler Track. From this Department of Conservation Hut explore the alpine tussock fields and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Fiordland mountains with the possibility of ascending to the summit of Mt Luxmore.
After time in the alpine area, hike down the mountain on the well-formed Kepler Track. The track descends through mountain and silver beech forest, and passes under towering limestone bluffs to the sandy beach of Brod Bay, the pick up point for the rewarding water taxi trip back to Te Anau.
From Luxmore Hut it is a down hill walk (8km) requiring a medium level of fitness. If you wish to explore further past theHut toward the Summit there would be an additional 1-3 hours walking up and down. There is a maximum of 12 walkers with a Trips & Tramps guide providing an opportunity to learn about the natural and human heritage of Fiordland. There are plenty of stops for photographs, bird-watching and interpretation along the way.
