No. There are no sharks in Lake Wakatipu. Hydro Attack uses a custom-built Seabreacher watercraft designed to look and move like a shark for an exciting and realistic ride experience.
You get around 15 minutes on the water action. With check-in, briefing and loading, allow 35–45 minutes total.
At the Queenstown lakefront kiosk (Lapsley Butson Wharf, Earnslaw Park)—right in town. Aim to arrive 10 minutes before your slot.
Minimum age is 6. Due to the snug cockpit, there’s a recommended max height ~195 cm and weight ~105–110 kg. If you’re close to the limit, staff can assess comfort at the berth.
Yes—your pilot tunes the ride from mild to wild. Tell them your comfort level at check-in.
Comfortable clothing, sunglasses optional. Life jackets and earmuffs are provided. Photo/video packages may be available after the ride.
