The journey to Milford Sound is just as spectacular as the destination itself. Milford Sound is around 5-6 hours (one-way) from Queenstown and around 3 hours from Te Anau by road.
.This overnight trip through the heart of Fiordland offers breathtaking scenery and the ultimate Milford Sound experience.
Departing late afternoon, you will embark from the Milford Sound wharf before cruising through Milford Sound with our specialist nature guide. They will describe the area’s history and geology and will be on hand to answer your questions.
This relaxing cruise style offers ample time to explore the fiord’s stunning waterfalls, rainforests, mountains, and wildlife — seals, dolphins, and perhaps even penguins.
The Milford Mariner anchors in a sheltered cove overnight. From here, you can board the vessel’s tender craft (small boat) or kayaks and explore with the guide waterfalls, local marine mammals, and birdlife up close and in their natural habitat. . You can sit on the deck and take in the breathtaking scenery. There’s always the option of a refreshing swim if you feel courageous. All activities are contingent on the weather.
As night comes, you will enjoy a delectable carvery buffet in the dining saloon, freshly cooked by our on-site chef. Then, it is time to unwind in the company of fellow passengers, engage in stargazing and storytelling, later retiring to your cabin.
The following morning, after a delicious breakfast, you will (weather allowing) return to the Tasman Sea and explore more of the fiord and its numerous waterfalls.

Individual cottages with private bathrooms (twin, double or single occupancy)
Buffet supper with three courses, including appetisers, soups, salads, hot meals, and desserts and cheeses (vegetarian options available)
A complete breakfast buffet with cooked and continental options is available.
A licenced bar is open on board. Due to our isolated location, we can only accept cash payments.
Included are kayaking and tender boat (small boat) activities.

The journey departs the Milford Sound Terminal at 4.30 p.m. and returns the following morning at 9.15 a.m.
Overnight Cruise guests can park for free in the RealNZ Bus Parking.
You must check in at the RealNZ counter thirty minutes before departure.
