Join us for a relaxing laid back coastal tour. Soak in the views while pedaling along rolling panoramic coastal roads and picturesque farmland overlooking Akaroa Marine reserve. This tour provides continuous uninterrupted views of the magnificent harbor and the further you go the better the views get! 

Our e-bikes are easy to ride, top of the line and give you as much or as little assistance as you need along your journey, so you can ride further, see more stunning sights, and have more fun!

The route has varied gentle terrain, mostly on sealed roads for your comfort and enjoyment and we are next to the ocean the whole way.

We have the opportunity to pop into a vineyard along the route, here you have the option to have a break and grab a coffee or jump back on the bikes to climb to the lookout view point for photo opportunities if you have the energy- the choice is yours!

Trip Notes:

• Total Distance: 21.6km including optional climb to lookout!
• Total Distance with out Look out climb 15.6 kms.
• 3.5 kms around volcanic peninsula on quiet gravel roads
• 0,7kms of sealed main roads sharing with other road users to link back to coastal road.
• 3kms of panoramic coastal road and rolling meadows takes us to a local vineyard with the option of stopping for a break.
• 1km of flat sealed road takes us to the base of our summit climb for those who want to challenge themselves and pedal up to the look out. ( you can always turn back and go back down if it’s too much!)
• 300m to the top! Here we can unleash a photo taking frenzy!
• After the summit we experience some delicious down hill descent and head back to base picking up those that decided to stop for a coffee at the vineyard on the way! We will take it at a  leisurely pace with more opportunities for photo and drinks stops before the tour comes to and end .

Great for couples, families and friends. This tour includes mixed terrain, some steep assents and descents, sealed and gravel roads throughout.

Highlights:

• Your knowledgeable guide will share knowledge and stop for photo opportunities along the way as you cycle to the top of the crater!
• The views  along the way truly are special and you will feel like you are pedaling in a real life postcard. 
• Get some great exercise! If you begin to get tired, turn on your turbo mode!
• Enjoy some off road action as we enjoy a delicious decent down deserted gravel farm roads over looking the harbour that will take your breath away

Tour Notes:

• Total Distance: 20km.  Moderate level of fitness required. Must be confident riding on gravel roads.
• 4ms of gravel flat roads through pine forest following the historical and beautiful peninsula takes us the start of our assent.
• 9km of gentle to moderate climbing with amazing views across the banks peninsula and uninterrupted views of Akaroa harbor and the pacific ocean brings us to the summit! Photo time!
• 7.3kms of delicious off road descent, time to engage our front suspension! Traverse down through quiet farm tracks, native forest, rolling meadows and stunning local farmland back to sea level.
• 1.5 kms of flat ocean side riding brings us back to the start of the route.
