Our famous Discoverer Day is the ultimate boat cruise and walk combination in the Abel Tasman National Park.
With three different walk options, the Discoverer Day offers all the best the Abel Tasman has to offer with a Full Park Scenic Cruise, visits to Split Apple Rock and a Fur Seal colony, golden beaches, forest walking and wildlife encounters all in one superb day out.

Details: Following a Full Park Scenic Cruise, drop-off at Apple Tree Bay at 12:00 for a walk through to fabulous Anchorage Beach with time to visit five different beaches along the way.
There is also the option to add the 1 hour Pitt Head loop track to Te Pukatea beach. A great choice for beach lovers!

Walking Distance: 10.5 km – Walking Time: 4 hours
Details: Following a Full Park Scenic Cruise, drop-off at Medlands Beach at 11:30 for a rewarding and varied walk to Anchorage Beach including the scenic highlights of the South Head lookout, the famous Falls River swing-bridge and Cleopatra’s Pool.

Walking Distance: 8.8 km Walking Time: 3.5 hours
Details: Following a Full Park Scenic Cruise, drop-off at Awaroa at 11:00 and enjoy Five Beaches between Awaroa and your pick-up at Medlands Beach.
This walk also features the option of stopping at the Peppers Awaroa Lodge Cafe, excellent views and native forests as well as a waterfall and lagoon at Bark Bay.
A steep climb from Tonga Quarry requires a reasonable level of fitness.

Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle – Seals, Bridges & Walk

Catch the boat to Medlands Beach, viewing Fur Seals on the way, enjoy a forest walk right in the heart of the Park and take in the views from the Falls River bridge .
About this trip:
This tour departs from Kaiteriteri at 9:00 or 10:30*. Dropping-off at Medlands Beach at 10:00 or 11:30 you head south for Anchorage Bay.
There is a short side track to the South Head Lookout, a short (but steep) side track leading to the secluded Sandfly Bay which is well worth a visit, and excellent views from the famous Falls River bridge where you may see kayakers or seals in the river below.
The track continues through native forest, arriving at Torrent Bay where there are high and low tide tracks to Anchorage Bay. Check with Sea Shuttle staff for tide information. The high tide track is longer, more scenic, and offers access to the lovely Cleopatra’s Pool.
Walking Time: 3.5 – 4 Hours recommended to take a light day pack with water.
Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle – Awaroa Ambience

Departs: 9:00 am – return pickup Tonga Quarry 3:10 pm

This is graded as a comfortable walk.
Take our informative cruise to Awaroa. Relax on the beach and enjoy a delicious lunch (additional cost) and the hospitality at *Awaroa Lodge and Cafe.
Get picked up again at Awaroa or at your leisure, hike through native forest to Tonga Quarry (1.5 hours). A highlight – new boardwalk and bridges over Richardson Stream.
*The Awaroa Lodge and Café is seasonal. closed from May to October*.
Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle – Walk or relax

Departs: Kaiteriteri 9:00 am & 12:40 pm
Duration: 3.5 hours (Half Day) or 8 hours (Full Day)
A great family option! Depart Kaiteriteri for Anchorage and relax on the beach.
Enjoy a one hour return walk to Te Pukatea Bay; a 1½ hour return walk to Pitt Head to view the lighthouse and panoramic views, or from Anchorage – walk to Cleopatra’s Pool. This is graded as a comfortable walk.
A great family option. Starting out from Kaiteriteri this tour takes you to Anchorage for a relax on the beach or you have the choice of several short walks:

- Te Pukatea Bay via Pitt Head and panoramic viewpoints 1.5hrs loop track

Drawing just 700mm of water our vessels are designed to minimise disruption to the seabed and beaches of the Abel Tasman National Park.
