This walk also features the option of stopping at the Peppers Awaroa Lodge Cafe, excellent views and native forests as well as a waterfall and lagoon at Bark Bay.
A steep climb from Tonga Quarry requires a reasonable level of fitness.

About this trip:
This tour departs from Kaiteriteri at 9:00 or 10:30*. Dropping-off at Medlands Beach at 10:00 or 11:30 you head south for Anchorage Bay.
There is a short side track to the South Head Lookout, a short (but steep) side track leading to the secluded Sandfly Bay which is well worth a visit, and excellent views from the famous Falls River bridge where you may see kayakers or seals in the river below.
The track continues through native forest, arriving at Torrent Bay where there are high and low tide tracks to Anchorage Bay. Check with Sea Shuttle staff for tide information. The high tide track is longer, more scenic, and offers access to the lovely Cleopatra’s Pool.
Walking Time: 3.5 – 4 Hours recommended to take a light day pack with water.
