Just a short distance from Paihia and Russell, you can catch a variety of species such as snapper, trevally, and terakihi, along with other great eating fish. Venturing north to the reefs and around the iconic Hole in the Rock, we target Kingfish and snapper.
As we head further out, you’ll have the chance to encounter a wide array of marine life, which in turn attracts game fish like striped marlin, black marlin, and blue marlin. You never know what might bite your lure or bait! With numerous deep-water reefs, fishing for hapuku and bluenose is also popular—these delicious species are a must-try in New Zealand.
All of this takes place against the stunning backdrop of the 144 islands within the Bay of Islands.”
The Boat
“Days Out” is a custom-built, nine-meter centre console fishing vessel, fully rigged for your adventure. Featuring a full walk-around design, sunshade, and an enclosed cabin for comfort, all fishing gear is proudly supplied by “Catch.” After your trip, fish will be filleted for you to enjoy at a local restaurant or take home. If you’re up for a longer adventure, stay overnight in Paihia and enjoy a couple of days of winter fishing—Bay of Islands is unbeatable

Snapper Morning or afternoon – share charters
Duration: 5 Hours – Price: From $150 per person
Leaving morning or dusk we will take you on our custom made 40 ft center console boat chasing the New Zealand snapper either by bait or with soft plastics. With a large influx of school fish that come and go into the bay of islands all year round we are very fortunate to be able to catch these amazing fish in either deep water or in the shallow. Big snapper is our specialty.
Yellowtail Kingfish – share charters
Duration: 7 hours – Price: $340 per person

Departing early in the morning we will catch your live bait and either live bait /jig/troll/. With a survey of 10 people we can cater for large groups which is great for corporate, team building, fishing groups, Stag or Hens adventures or any personalized sole charter trips.
