Waitomo Caves Zipline is an exciting activity that opened in May 2019. The growing trend of ziplining involves an exhilarating mix of adrenaline, speed and nature.
You will fly high on 10 zip lines through native trees and over limestone bluffs with fantastic views over the region.
You’ll start by zipping through 100yr old native Kahikatea trees gaining skill and confidence with each zip-line progressively longer and faster. The last 280m zipline is super fast leaving you with a real rush.
Our activity is designed to give participants active use of the zip-line gear however guides are closely monitoring. As heights are involved each client will under go a safety briefing to learn how to use the gear provided.
Guides will be actively involved where needed, however any children U13 years old will need adult active supervision.
You will be navigating around trees and on small platforms as you clip your safety lines between zip-lines.
We start you off at a low level to get you confident using the gear before heading up to the higher and faster zip-lines. You will finish off with 3 long ziplines with fantastic views over the region, the last of these ziplines is super fast and 280m long.
As clients are required to follow instructions unassisted there is potential for serious harm to occur should safety instructions not be followed.
It is a physical activity involving some impact into padding at the end of the zip-lines so there is potential to flare any pre existing medical conditions.
Please check with your doctor if concerned and particular care should be taken with knees, ankles, hips and backs.
N.B. There is some up hill walking involved so while you are not required to be fit, you must be mobile to walk up hill and on uneven ground.
Safety Helmets will be supplied.

Your trip will start with a safety lesson where you will learn how to use the gear safely. you will then you’ll practice on the shorter zip lines before accessing the longer, higher and faster zip lines.
