Often described as the best one-day hike in New Zealand, The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is a 6-8 hour challenging grade hike over Mt Tongariro.
Lava flows, an active crater, steam vents, emerald-coloured lakes and magnificent views combine to make this an unforgettable walking journey.
Tongariro Expeditions is a transport and hiking company providing services to prepare you for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. It offers the opportunity to experience some of the park’s most scenic, volcanically active areas. We pick up from Taupo, Turangi, Base Camp and Ketetahi.
