Fiordland Walks - Private Kepler Track Short Guided Walk

Price:  $650 for 1 to 3 persons additional persons can be added

Travel across Lake Te Anau by water taxi to Brod Bay with its clear water and white sands.

Here we begin our easy walk following the lake edge through mountain and red beech forest. The track has a gentle gradient, is well maintained and suitable for all abilities.

Your private, knowledgeable Trips & Tramps guide will share information on your surrounds, explain the beech forest ecological cycle and conservation efforts made on the Kepler Track by the local community as you wander along.

On a beach, or under the trees we will enjoy a classic kiwi cuppa along the way and explore the native forest with its unique plant, fungi and bird species.  We emerge from the bush to cross the Control Gates across the mighty Waiau River.  From here we will transport you back to your Te Anau accommodation by road.

Fiordland Walks - Private Milford Track Guided Walk

Duration: 11  Hours

Morning guided walk on the Milford Track. Your guided walk starts at Deepwater Basin, Milford Sound, beginning with a short boat ride to Sandfly Point.  

Enjoy an easy 5.5 km (11 km return) walk alongside the cascading Arthur River and moody Lake Ada, on a well-maintained track.

From the ancient canopy trees towering above to the  emerald-green ferns below and the birdsong that echoes through the trees, it is a unique World Heritage Area best explored by foot. Our destination is the impressive Giant Gate  This spectacular waterfall is best viewed from the large swing bridge spanning the river. 

We then return at a leisurely pace, taking the time to enjoy this incredible forest.Your local Trips & Tramps guide provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the fascinating human heritage of the track. 

On completion of the walk an opportunity is made for photos at the sign marking the end the track.  Walkers then re-join the boat for the transfer back to Milford.

Afternoon boat cruise (Optional)
Enjoy Milford Sound’s awe-inspiring scenery from the comfort of a Real Journey’s Scenic Boat Cruise. With purpose-built observation lounges and large decks, you can be sure you will get some great viewing opportunities.

You’ll see the geological drama of sheer cliffs, massive waterfalls, glaciers and rainforest. Keep a look out for wildlife like seals basking on the rocks or dolphins. During the cruise, friendly crew provide commentaries and point out the sights such as Mitre Peak and the Pembroke Glacier.

Fiordland Day Walks - Private Lake Marian Guided Walk

Experience a more remote guided day walk from Te Anau hiking to Lake Marian through forest and alpine scenery. 

Begin with a spectacular scenic drive along the Milford Road to the Lower Hollyford valley, the starting point for the guided walk to Lake Marian.

The hike starts with a gentle walk alongside a series of waterfalls, then steepens and becomes rocky underfoot as we ascend through a lush forest of fuchsia, ribbon wood and beech trees. 

Your private Trips & Tramps guide will provide an opportunity for guests to learn about the natural and human heritage of Fiordland. Regular stops for photographs, bird-watching and enjoying the scenery are made along the way. 

Hot drinks and energy snacks are carried by the guide, with a wilderness tea break available as required.  After walking for 2-3 hours, we arrive at Lake Marian.  This stunning alpine lake is situated in a hanging valley surrounded by steep, snow clad mountains.  As weather permits enjoy a picnic lunch at this inspirational location and relax in this magnificent alpine amphitheater.

Descend back down the track to the Hollyford Road and then travel back to Te Anau by private vehicle.

Fiordland Walks - Private Routeburn Track Guided Walk

Departs: 8:30 am  Te Anau
Duration: 8  Hours

Join your private exclusive guided walk and travel to Fiordland’s mountain divide by vehicle.

Your 8 km return Routeburn Track guided walk begins at the Divide Shelter, ascending through lush, temperate rain forest on a well-maintained track. 

The steady climb takes approximately 2 hours at a leisurely pace.  Your local Trips & Tramps guide provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the natural and human heritage of Fiordland. 

Gaining an elevation of 400 meters, emerge from the forest into the alpine environment, with panoramic views of high snowy peaks, alpine lakes, and deep bush clad valleys.

On a fine day lunch is on the summit amidst the alpine tarns, and in unfavorable conditions in the shelter of a nearby tramping hut.  After lunch steps are retraced to the Divide Shelter before returning to Te Anau.

Fiordland Walks - Private Kepler Track Luxmore Day Heli Hike

Begin your experience with a scenic helicopter flight over the Hidden Lakes, beech forest and alpine area to Luxmore Hut on the Kepler Track.  

From this Department of Conservation Hut explore the alpine tussock fields and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Fiordland mountains with the possibility of ascending to the summit of Mt Luxmore. 

After time in the alpine area, hike down the mountain on the well-formed Kepler Track. The track descends through mountain and silver beech forest, and passes under towering limestone bluffs to the sandy beach of Brod Bay, the pick up point for the rewarding water taxi trip back to Te Anau.

From Luxmore Hut it is a down hill walk (8km) requiring a medium level of fitness.  If you wish to explore further past the Hut toward the Summit there would be an additional 1-3 hours walking up and down.
