Let the wind fill your sails, taking in Coromandel icons, Cathedral Cove, Hahei Marine Reserve, Cooks Beach and beyond from either an offshore racing grade catamaran or an America’s Cup style foiling yacht.

‘Fully Charged’ is a powerful coastal racing catamaran, designed by one of New Zealands best ever yacht designers and modified for relaxing day sailing –  she charges along at a fine old clip in even the lightest of winds, when it is blowing, hold on she is a pocket rocket!  With her spacious trampoline decks you can laze back and enjoy the wind in your hair and the epic views and you can take the helm or tweak the sails.

Boom Sailing is the best way to experience the Mercury Bay, with two 3 hour trips exploring Cathedral Cove and surrounds by sail every day, a daily sunset cruise, private charter and an Extreme Foiling Experience on ‘Excess’. Every trip is very different and we are a small kiwi company with a focus on our guests and and pride ourselves on producing a high end product at an affordable price.

Boom Sailing – Whitianga Morning Sail

Price:  $120 per person – Children $55 pp
Sailing Departs: 9:45 am Buffalo Beach returns 12:45 pm
Sailing Duration: 3 Hours

Plan to sail around the beautiful coastline on Fully Charged and visit local iconic locations, setting anchor for half an hour at Cathedral Cove. Either relax on the boat, or have a swim or snorkel in the marine reserve with the amazing fish life. 

The trip includes freshly brewed coffee, chilled organic juice and a freshly baked snack.

Sailing Departs: 1:45 pm Buffalo Beach returns 4:45 pm
Sailing Duration: 3.5 Hours

Plan to sail around the beautiful coastline on Fully Charged and visit local iconic locations, setting anchor for half an hour at Cathedral Cove. Either relax on the boat, or have a swim or snorkel in the marine reserve with the amazing fish life. 

Your trip includes a complementary chilled local beer or New Zealand wine along with some smoked local seafood.

Boom Sailing – The Sundowner Private Charter Whitianga

Price:  $980 upto 10 Passengers
Sailing Departs: 6:00 pm Buffalo Beach returns 8:00 pm
Sailing Duration: 2 Hours

There is nothing quite like being on the water on the Coromandel at dusk!

Our 2 hour sunset trip departs Buffalo Beach 6pm, returning by 8pm. The perfect way to end a day in Whitianga. 

A relaxing sail in the evening breeze going where the wind takes us. Sail the boat or relax on the comfortable trampoline decks on a beanbag. Watch the sun go down and the moon come up. Trip includes a local brewery beer and some local smoked seafood snacks. Sorry kids, this trip is for adults only.

Boom Sailing – Private Sailing Charter

Price:  $1190 Sole charter
Sailing Departs:  9:00 am
Sailing Duration:  4 Hours

Hire out the entire boat with our experienced skipper and crew for your own private charter.  Let us know what you want and if the weather plays ball we can pull it together for you. Whether it be a relaxing family day sailing expedition to one of the outlying islands with some beach stops along the way or some full on big sail screaming on Fully Charged around the bay, we can do it. Want to go further afield? The Mercury Islands and Aldermen Islands both become a feasible option on a full day trip.

Our private charter guests can either sit back and relax or can get involved and sail the boat. You will be accompanied by both a Skipper and crew member.    

We tailor the trips with our guests, make a plan and then see what the wind brings. Sometimes we simply sail the day away. However, with the right breeze, there are lots of options….Exploring secluded beaches, snorkelling in the marine reserve, escaping the crowds or trolling for fish while we sail. Pick your adventure. 

Included in the private charter rate is all snorkel gear. We also provide tea, fresh brewed coffee, a glass or two of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, local craft beer, organic juice and a small snack of fruits and smoked seafood. Full catering per head can be arranged (priced to your requirements) or your welcome to bring along your own picnic.         

All Private Charters are inclusive of drinks and snacks. Trip Minimum of 4 hours.
