We take off at the foothills of Mount Hutt in Methven, where the mountains give excellent protection from the prevalent north-westerly winds.
We have unrestricted airspace limitations up to 9,500 feet, which affords us spectacular views of the southern alps as far away as Mount Cook and Mount Aspiring, as well as the patchwork panorama of the plains and the Pacific coast to the east.
Methven is a wonderful destination to spend a few days due to its abundance of activities, such as mountain walks and the Lord of the Rings location on Mount Sunday.
