Each tour accommodates a maximum of 10 people. The tour begins and ends at the Paihia I-site, and the pickup time is 12:30. The price of the ticket includes wine/beer tasting and a platter-style late lunch.
Visit Ake Ake vineyard, a family-run boutique enterprise located just outside of Kerikeri, and sample their organic Chambourcin, Pinot Gris, Syrah, Chardonnay, Tempranillo, and Sauvignon Blanc wines. Learn how grapes are grown on a tour of the vineyard, followed by a sampling of six selections from their range.
From Ake Ake, we proceed to Marsden Estate, which the McIvor family established some twenty years ago. Customers can enjoy wine tastings and a lunch buffet in the ambience of the restaurant’s courtyard, which overlooks a lake and vineyards.
The Plough & Feather Tap Room, our final destination, features up to twenty locally brewed ales and lagers from their sister company, Kainui Brew Co. (as well as the odd guest tap). Kainui Brew Co was created in the heart of Kerikeri in 2015 and has quickly risen to popularity in New Zealand, earning multiple Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards in some of the country’s most prestigious contests (NZ Brewer’s Guild Awards, New World Awards).
Kainui Brew Co specialises in traditional types and barrel-aged artisan beers, and there is always something on tap to suit any taste.
This stop is located in the Kerikeri Domain and provides customers with access to the Stone Store and Kemp House, New Zealand’s oldest surviving stone and wooden structures.
The Bay of Islands is where the first NZ vintage was made. All vineyards in the Bay of Islands area are small family run businesses and our tour allows time to chat with the wine makers and relax in the vineyard settings. You will enjoy a relaxing lunch (own cost) overlooking the vines at one of the vineyards. With fresh produce sourced from around the region
